When I was just starting, I had no money or friends. Well, at least no friendly connections in banks that would give me a line of credit.

I found my money source using....wait for it - credit cards.

When I began buying at auctions, I needed short-term cash to pay for items I knew I could sell quickly.

I am NOT suggesting you should use a stack of credit cards for your first line of credit.

That's just what I did.

It was the best $400K investment of my life.

No other investment is as good as when you invest in yourself.

The key is finding cards that offer high limits over time and benefits that you are looking for.

Don't worry about interest rates - you will be using this money in the short term and paying it off each month.

My personal favorite card? The Amex Marriott Bonvoy.

Language is important.

The words we use are crucial.

This includes the words you use inside your head to describe yourself.

Last month, I had a coaching call with a client who described their mind as unsettled.

After listening to them for a while, I offered a reframe removing the negative word unsettled from their vocabulary and replacing it with *curious.*

I have a curious mind.

This is a superpower. Not something negative to overcome.

Another example:

I love the musician Beck.

Beck has a great song that he titled Loser.

I love the song, and I love to sing along.

But I cant sing this line: Im a loser baby

So, I switch the words when I hear it to: Youre a loser baby

Not YOU, of course. You're fricking awesome.

I do this with every word I put inside my head.

Invert the messages you take into your head to ensure they lift you up and don't tear you down.

Use this 3 step system to reframe the messages inside of your head:

1. Start thinking of yourself as the Hero in the story inside your head.

2. Think all the way to the end of the story with you slaying the beast, winning the kingdom, and getting everything you dreamed of.

3. Put this inner language on repeat.
