Its a brisk Sunday morning, and Ive walked up to my office with my slippers on.
My other business attire is a pair of sweats and a soft flannel shirt.
Ready for action!
And while I am working on Sunday morning, I learned long ago that flexibility is the most valuable part of being an Unconventional Entrepreneur.
You might be thinking that its freedom that you really want.
Let me explain why flexibility is worth fighting for.
Problem-solving is one of the best things in life. Freedom from problem-solving leads to brain rot.
When you are short on time, you select your priorities and apply energy to what is most important. Freedom from time constraints leads to complacency.
Being responsible for a boatload of stuff keeps the pressure on to perform and achieve more. Freedom from responsibility leads to a meandering life with no purpose.
Flexibility, on the other hand

As an Entrepreneur, you will work countless hours to succeed. But they will be YOUR hours.
Want to work from 10 PM to 2 AM do it!
Take a Tuesday trip to Napa for lunch? Of course!
Sunday mornings in the office? Yes expect some of those.
Never missing your kids school play or soccer game? Priceless.
Chasing flexibility has been my prime directive.
How about you?
Why are you here?
What do you want to learn?
Slippery Math
In addition to flexibility, Ive used Slippery Math to create an uncommon life.
Heres how Slippery Math works and why it is so powerful.
When you are looking at an opportunity in business, do all the math and work the numbers back and forth to be sure it makes sense.
If the numbers dont pencil out quite where you want them to
Sprinkle some Slippery Math dust on the deal, and it may get you over the edge.
Slippery Math is how much of the opportunity will improve your life beyond the ROI and profit.
Exhibit A: RiverSong Retreat

We bought this property last year as a vacation rental.
During the negotiations, we were far apart on price.
No matter how I worked the spreadsheet, I couldnt find a way to cover all the costs by renting to guests.
Then I took a walk.
I walked the trails and sat on the river deck. I pictured my wife and I sitting in the Adirondack chairs after a day of work.

I stopped at the fire pit and thought of how many campfires our family and friends could enjoy.

I paused in the meadow and listened to the wind rustling through the hundreds of trees along the water.

And I realized I needed to add a Slippery Math column to my spreadsheet.
What is the value of the experiences we would have at RiverSong?
Priceless.
I have used Slippery Math for everything cars, computers, phones, trips, and real estate deals.
Try it out, and let me know how it works for you!
Oh, and if you want to stay at RiverSong Retreat, we are in the California Sierra foothills.
